there were cockroaches in my room and there’s no air conditioning. i was not able to choose the dorm i was in. my dorm is a 20 min walk to most schools but overall i don’t hate it. i actually like living in collins. i just wish it was a little more updated since i’m paying the same as people who have breyer rooms with no bugs and air conditioning.

I know that Collins recently went under a year long renovation, but I feel like at least my dorm not much was done. I live in a single in Smith, but it is weird considering most of the single dorms are in a stairwell. Additionally, I feel like Collins is boring compared to the other dorms. I chose to live at Collins because of its history and design, but it feels like that is just one of the things that went away during the reno. Also the room design is weird. Why are all of the sockets on one wall? I feel like that is pointless, and it forces students to put anything that requires to be plugged in to be on that side of the room. Additionally the laundry room is absolutely terrible.
