Absolutely horrible, farthest form possible from all of my classes. There was most likely mold in my room but I never got it checked I just had trouble breathing a lot and got sick constantly. Bathrooms were communal so I was sharing it with my whole hallway and one of the 2 showers was broken for a good chunk of the year. Also I was put in a quad with people who were different majors than me so our schedules were very very different from each other. Very far from most of the dining halls. Any other dorm would’ve been preferable.

I lived in the JLLC so my experience was a little bit different. I was in a renovated double so my room was a great amount of space, but the elevator situation definitely could have been better. Overall, I recommend Eigenmann if you’re planning on majoring in the business school or if you’re looking for a social building!

This dorm has a variety of room types so if you get places here it’s hard to know what type of living situation you’ll have. I lived In a double on a floor with all singles which was a strange set up and most people on my floor were very quiet. There was a community bathroom which was always kept fairly clean and the amenities weren’t to bad. The one thing I loved is the huge window in our room with a very pretty view. It’s also a create dorm if you need some alone time every once and while as it’s more quiet and less social.

Size of room was great and floormates were awesome! A little far from educational buildings but great location for food. 10/10 would recommend

I really liked Eigenmann because of its size. Also, in my experience, the communal bathroom is not bad at all. It is a a bit of a walk to Wright and Forest, but there are food options in the basement and across the street at Union Street, so food was never really an issue!

I really liked how the bathroom was connected to another room. It was a lot cleaner than the community bathroom!

The shower heads were EXTREMELY low but if you’re able to look past this you will friend your absolute best friends ever at Eigenmann. The girls I met first week are still my best friends. The best was having a lounge connecting the boys and girls wing so we could socialize and get to know everyone.

Eigenmann is underrated! Five minute to the rec center. Food is decently close. I was in the KLLC which provided great opportunities (not sure where it’ll be next year). I was in a triple with two random girls and it worked out well! We had a “renovated triple” so had a fair amount of room. Beds were all lofted but you get used to it. I was also on the 14th floor of 14 floors so that was annoying but also out of my control. Nice c store and and distance to library and Kelley.

I had a single and my best friend from high school was in a single across the hall from me. I really enjoyed living in a single, especially since I was friends with the people on my floor. It was nice to have my own space. The singles definitely have enough room, and the rooms and furniture are nice. The community style bathrooms aren't the best but they are fairly clean. Eigenmann is right next to the SRSC and bus stops which is really convenient. Unfortunately with the mold problems in other buildings (no mold in my dorm) people were living in the lounges so we didn't have a lot of space to hang with friends. The worst part about Eigenmann is just how far it is from classroom buildings and sometimes the elevators can be slow.

The rooms are huge, but there are definitely drawbacks to living in Eigenmann. The community bathrooms are not the nicest, and they can be quite far from certain rooms. The halls and main spaces are completely average, nothing good or bad to say about them. Some of the 3-person rooms are an awkward layout, so I recommend requesting the triples farthest from the bathrooms; your room will be giant. The doubles are a good size, and an easy layout so each person and their own space.

I've stayed at eiganman one year, heres the pros and cons. PROS: For the price range, this dorm is one of the most spacious, with beautiful views of campus. There are so many ways to move the furniture around to make it homey. Theres room to bring a fouton, tv, and more. Theres always going to be an open shower or stall on your floor. You'll have a floor lounge you can use to play cards or otherwise spread out and hangout with friends. This dorm also has one of the largest dorm parking on campus- If you're lucky enough to get a dorm parking pass in the first place. CONS The downfall to this dorm is that all of your classes and major food courts are going to be at least a 10 minute walk. If you learn how to use the DoubleMaps app for the busses and use your fridge to store food, you're in great shape. Theres a cafe on the ground floor that isn't great. It has coffe, pasteries, and greesy food. It's also very inconsistantly opened, so don't count on it. The elevators can also be a pain because there are 15 total floors (including the ground), so always give yourself extra time to leave. There are also CONSTANT fire alarms going off in this building. Be ready to evacuate multiple times in the middle of the night. If you get cold from alarms in the winter, just walk into the neighborring building, Union Street Center. extra info: There are min-kitchens on floors 12, and 6 in the lounge. There's also laundry on the ground floor and floor 12.

I was in a renovated double, which means it used to be 2 singles but they knocked down the middle wall, so it was actually pretty spacious. The room itself was perfectly fine for a dorm, but a lot of other people on my floor had some maintenance issues. Most of my problems with it had to do with the other residents- they were often very loud and disrespectful and left messes in the hallways/bathrooms. BTW do NOT do your dishes in the shower it's nasty. The elevators also take forever to arrive, but they move super fast. Dining halls were often closed due to under-staffing and supply chain disruptions while I was there, but if things had been normal it would've been a great location for dining. There is a little dining hall on the ground floor with a Starbucks, grab-n-go, and lunch and dinner lines. I never had any of the meals there, but the coffee was good. There's also Union Market right across the street which was a life saver. They had groceries and salad/sandwich bar. Eigenmann is pretty far from most classes, but it's also in a great spot for transportation. I took the IU E and C busses and the Bloomington transit 9 bus all the time, all right at the building. I heard they also added the 10 recently which is a really great one. Overall I'd say it's not the best dorm on campus, but it's definitely not the worst either.

If you are not in the jllc a quad is the same size as their triple. It’s the same room just in the living learning center. No room for anything beside given furniture unless you are lucky enough to be on the bottom bunk. You must bunk the beds to have room for the wardrobes, dressers, and desks you must have in the room. Not fit for more than 2 people. Seemed like the room was slightly bigger than the double next door

My 3-person dorm room is not like the one on line on IU Bloomington's website nor like the ones on display during campus tours. It's a corner room with 1 window. The beds have to be bunked in 1 configuration bc there is no floor space. We have to pay the same as everyone else but get half the floor space as the "traditional" 3-person room and didn't have the choice!
