Resident Reviews of Cypress Hall

The only thing this dorm has going for it is a functional AC, large beds, and the room itself is also large. The bathrooms are very small. The toilet has an automatic flush, but it was so sensitive that is would flush 4 or 5 times just because whoever was using it was standing up. It got so bad that my roommate put a piece of tape on the sensor to stop it all together. The shower is connected to all the toilets on the floor, so anytime anyone on the floor flushes, the shower water turns super cold, then super hot, before finally settling back down to whatever you set it at. Not to mention the shower head doesn't let water out fast enough, so the pressure has cause water to spray from where the head is attached to the pipe all over the ceiling and door that is closest to the shower and creates huge messes on the floor. There's also a 50/50 chance of choosing a washing machine that works as there are only two and no indication is one is broken. They will randomly in the middle of a cycle beep and say "out of order" while locking the door, so you can't even get your clothes out of the machine itself. Apparently, this doesn't count as emergency maintenance, so all you can do is put in an IService request and hope they get there before the wet clothes locked inside start to mold. This has happened multiple times, but nothing is seeming to be done about it. For all the money that you have to spend to stay in this dorm, you would think it would have decent showers and functional appliances.
