The shared bathrooms only have 2 showers for a total of 10 or even more people. Extremely inconvenient, especially during busy times at night and in the mornings before class.

Dorm life is great, although my roommate and I don't get along well. The amenities are nice, furniture is in good condition, and rooms are private enough to my liking. The beds are your stereotypical Twin XL, and the mattresses are comfortable. The desks are wide enough to put up your Christmas tree in the winter while your computer charges alongside it. All of the rooms I've seen, including mine, have nice windows that overlook the campus and Lake Superior. There's one lounge per floor, and they are spacious areas to hangout or do homework in. Griggs allows us to control our own heat and A/C, but LSH does not. We use our dorm keys to get into our floor, and of course to get into our rooms. The key is also for mail, and we use our student IDs to pick up packages. Griggs EF, where I was, is directly by the mail room. For fun, we often have floor events, or attend events posted on signs around campus. I enjoyed on-campus housing, in part because the staff I encountered were super friendly. If anyone has questions for a former dorm-bound freshman like myself, call or text me at 651-352-9775. I'm happy to help :)
