Resident Reviews of Reynolds Hall

Reynolds is and old building and you can tell. (Built in 1950) there are cracks and peels in the old paint and the windows are outdated and drafty. The bathrooms are tiny and sharing with 3 people means there’s no room for your stuff. The water pressure is always great and the water is always hot. The AC and Heat are great. The walls are thin and the lights are old. There are no elevators and the walk from main campus is mostly stairs. On the walk back from campus you can see people out of breath from the crazy amount of stairs and all the up hill. It’s also one of the furthest spots from main campus. It’s quiet up here but also means unless brown dining hall is open you have no quick access to food. Parking is good but poorly lit. Laundry room is down in the basement and there are only 4 washers/dryers. Some of the rooms aren’t even open to residents because the plaster is bubbling and crumbling off the wall. The common rooms are comfortable but small and the vending machines are always empty. The house keeping is super nice and helpful and the view of the mountains up here is great. If you’re new to campus or tend to run late this is not the dorm for you.

True, this dorm is way up on the hill and up a lot of stairs. However, the time I spent in Reynolds was my best year on campus. Now that vivid is finished there is plenty of dining nearby. The rooms (normally singles) are huge compared to the Honors College. The bathrooms are small, but I didn’t mind it. The old feel of the place is homey to me and since the walls have been patched up it’s a lot better draft wise. The balconies are a fun spot to sit at night and it’s so nice and quiet up there away from main campus.
